School Aims and Values

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.
Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
In the same way, let your light shine before others,
that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

(Matthew 5:14–16)

At Moseley Church of England Primary School, our vision is that every child and adult in our community will know that they are a light in the world — unique, valued, and able to make a difference.
We believe that each person carries their own light — their gifts, kindness, curiosity, and courage — and that when we shine together, we bring hope and goodness to others.

As a Church of England school, our Christian ethos is at the heart of everything we do. Rooted in the teaching and example of Jesus, we seek to follow His light — learning from His message of love, compassion, forgiveness, and service.

Our vision is inclusive: we welcome and value every member of our community, of all faiths and none, and invite everyone to learn from the life and teaching of Jesus.

We aim to nurture our pupils so that they can grow in wisdom, hope, and dignity, developing the knowledge, skills, and character to flourish in life and to bring light wherever they go.

💛 Our Values

Our values guide our daily actions and help us to live out our vision — to be a city on a hill, shining brightly for all to see.

  • Hope – We believe in brighter possibilities and trust that light overcomes darkness.

  • Love – We show kindness, compassion, and care for one another, as Jesus taught.

  • Courage – We stand up for what is right and face challenges with strength and faith.

  • Trust – We build relationships based on honesty, reliability, and faith in one another.

  • Forgiveness – We learn from our mistakes and offer grace and understanding to others.

  • Thankfulness – We recognise the blessings in our lives and show gratitude in all we do.

  • Community – We work together, celebrating diversity and supporting one another so that all can shine.

Together, our vision and values inspire us to be a community of light — a place where everyone is encouraged to shine, to grow, and to make the world a brighter, kinder place.
