Curriculum

Our curriculum is at the heart of us achieving our school's vision:

Flourishing Together To Serve.’ (1 Corinthians 12: 4-28)

Our welcoming, spiritually vibrant and inclusive, church school aspires to fulfil the potential of all.  We seek to enable every unique child to flourish in body, mind and spirit; gaining wisdom and knowledge and developing gifts and talents.  We nurture and empower children to serve as active citizens in God’s diverse, modern world; guided and strengthened by our distinctively Christian values of

HopeCourageLoveThankfulnessTrust and Forgiveness.

We are passionate about immersing and engaging our children in their learning through high quality teaching in engaging lessons and inspiring real-life experiences.

We provide children with a range of inspiring visits, visitors and hands on opportunities to provide meaningful, real-life experiences. Experiences include: visits to places of interest and places of worship; visiting experts; opportunities to handle animals; visitors from the local community and other meaningful real life experiences.

Teachers plan a series of lessons, including experiences to inspire further learning inside and outside the classroom. Experiences are followed up with further work in the classroom and teachers use photographs and artefacts as provocations to promote further learning.

Our curriculum is further enriched by a range of extra-curricular activities during lunch time and after school.

How can parents and carers find out more about our curriculum?

  • Parents and carers can find out more information about our curriculum from the curriculum pages of our website.
  • Parents and carers will be given a curriculum overview for the year by the class teacher at the annual 'Meet the Teacher' session which is held at the beginning of each academic year.  A half termly curriculum overview will be shared on the class page each half term.
  • Parents and carers will be able to see their children's work at our Flourishing Together Progress Reviews which are held in Autumn 2 and Spring 2.
  • Class teachers will discuss any further infromation about the curriculum with parents and carers upon request.

We are thrilled that we will now be able to share photographs of our learning experiences on our new school website.  Please watch our short video below which includes a small selection of photographs which capture some of the wonderful learning opportunities which support our children to flourish through our curriculum:

Our Values

We are guided and strengthened by our distinctively Christian values of Hope, Courage, Love, Thankfulness, Trust and Forgiveness. These values were chosen by our school community by reflecting deeply on the meaning of 6 key stories from the Bible. These values are nurtured and lived by all in our school community as we continue to learn and grow together.
