Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Moseley Church of England Primary School!

We are a small one-form entry school of 210 children, we have 7 full time teachers and one PPA teacher on our team. We are supported by 9 highly skilled teaching assistants, 3 of whom provide specialist SEND support.  The leadership team is made up of a Head Teacher (Miss Karen Young), Deputy Head Teacher and a dedicated SENDCo, Mrs Gemma Amion.

Together we form a tight-knit school community, all children and adults knowing each other well.  This is felt daily in our school and particularly shines each week in our celebration worship when the whole school sings happy birthday to those lucky enough to be called to the front of the hall!

We welcome everyone into our school community, we are driven by our Christian values of Hope, Courage, Love, Thankfulness, Trust and Forgiveness.  As a Church of England School we are driven by a common goal of wanting each and every one of our children to flourish and experience life in all it's fullest. We have high expectations of everyone in our school community, we ensure all children have a range of experiences to achieve excellence and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Our school’s motto, ‘Flourishing Together to Serve', is evident in all aspects of school life. Every member of our school community is valued for their uniqueness and for the important role they play within our school community. (1 Corinthians 12: 4-28).

Our children make a positive contribution to the community our school serves, each class has a link with a local charity and we work together to ensure Moseley stays the special place that it is today! We are actively supported by very strong links with our parish churches of St Mary’s, St Anne’s and St Agnes. Our children regularly have opportunities to visit these places of worship, as well as many others.

We strongly believe in fostering strong and positive partnerships with parents and the local community and we welcome any support, thoughts and ideas to help us to continue to grow.  Our parent/carer forum and PTA are widely supported and are valued by the school leadership.

Our core purpose is to educate, this is what we our skilled teaching team is most passionate about. Through our broad and rich curriculum, we aim to enable every child to love learning and develop excellent knowledge and skills, enriched by a secure sense of self-worth and deep moral purpose. We believe it is our collective responsibility to enable and encourage every unique child to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. We aim to nurture skills and talents to enable every individual to achieve, flourish and make a positive difference as active citizens in today’s modern, multi-cultural world.

If you would like to arrange visit, like paper copies of any of our policies or require further information, please contact the school and we will be delighted to welcome and help you.

As a school community we continue to learn and grow, our curriculum for example will always be evolving as we strive to the very best we can be!  Please keep checking the website (including this page) for updates.
