Active Travel to School
At Moseley C of E Primary we encourage children and their families to travel to school in a sustainable way.
We are part of the Modeshift Stars scheme; a national schools awards scheme which promotes the benefits of active travel. We have worked hard towards achieving our good travel plan (Bronze). Our next step is to achieve a very good travel plan (Silver).
We participate in a number of initiatives that inspire our children to think about their journeys to school and we hope that this will help them to make healthy lifestyle choices in the future.
Some of the activities we take part in each year include:
- Road Safety week
- Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel We were thrilled to be 50th on the leaderboard out of 668 small primary schools taking part.
- Bikeability
- Scootability
We also work with our local Community Police Officers to learn more about how we can keep ourselves safer when we are actively travelling to and from school.
It is fantastic to see all of our children and families embracing this initiative and trying out different ways to travel to school sustainably.
