Flourishing

to Serve

Welcome from the Chair

As Chair of Governors I am delighted to welcome you to our wonderful school. We strongly believe that every child matters to God and we strive to ensure our Christian ethos, vision and values underpin everything we do.

The role of the governing body is strategic and our school governing body has a core function and purpose, which is to provide strong strategic leadership to the school, ensuring accountability for its educational and financial performance.

At Moseley, we are very fortunate to have a range of skills and experience on our governing body and we are passionate about using this range of skills and experience to ensure that we provide strong and effective governance of the school. Governors do not get involved in the day to day running of the school, rather, we work collaboratively with the school leadership team to achieve strategic leadership and direction.

Our full governing body meets regularly during each academic year. From September 2021 we also have one sub-committee – the finance, premises and personnel committee – which reports up to the full governing board. In addition to attending formal governing body meetings, each governor has a link role in areas such as safeguarding, SEND, pupil premium or staff and pupil wellbeing. As part of our strategic role, governors visit the school during the school day to see the school in action, and report back to the full governing body on what they have learned as part of their governor visit at the next governing body meeting.

As a governing body we absolutely recognise the dedication, commitment and contribution that all our staff make to ensuring our pupils receive a well-rounded educational experience, in a safe environment, which equips them for life at primary school, secondary school and beyond. We are very proud of our school and our children. It is a privilege to support and serve the children and families in our school community.

On behalf of the governing body, welcome to our school!

Becky Perkes, Chair of Governors
