Y1 Create a New Poem
We have been working hard this week on learning a new poem in our English sessions. We listened to the poem 'The Ning Nang Nong' by Spike Milligan and really enjoyed noticing the silly rhyme. We performed it orally and with percussion instruments as a whole class looking at rhyme and syllables in each word.
Mr Murphy helped us to spot the rhymes in the poem and we used this to help us to rewrite our own Courage Class version!
Have a look at our silly poem, we love it.
The Ying Pang Zong, by Courage Class
On the Ying Pang Zong
Where the Cows go Bong!
and the monkeys all say BOO!
There's a Zong Pang Ying
Where the trees go Ping!
And the tea pots jibber jabber joo.
On the Zong Ying Pang
All the mice go Clang
And you just can't catch 'em when they do!
So its Ying Pang Zong
Cows go Bong!
Zong Pang Ying
Trees go ping
Zong Ying Pang
The mice go Clang
What a noisy place to belong
is the Ying Pang Ying Pang Zong!!
