Flourishing
Together
to Serve

Our Curriculum

“You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under a bowl, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16

At Moseley Church of England Primary School we are proud of our curriculum, it encompasses everything that happens from the moment our doors open until they close.   We want all of our children to flourish and realise their full potential, socially, academically, creatively, spirtually and physically. We want our children to be inspired to learn, know and understand more, ready for the transition into KS3 and beyond.

Please see some ways that we do this below:

-Each day starts with a collective act of worship, staff and children have the opportunity to reflect on the teachings of the bible, think about the bigger issues of the world and reflect on our own place within our school, community and the wider world

-On arrival into the classroom, children are greeted by their key adults and get straight to work because we strongly believe that every minute of learning counts!

-All children recieve high quality lessons and learning opportunities across the curriculum, no child has their learning narrowed and all children are encouraged to achieve and succeed in every subject.  We invest in every subject that we teach, ensuring teachers have access to the best quality teaching resources and CPD, leading to exceptional learning for all of our children. We ensure that the core skills of writing, reading and maths are applied across subjects, through the school day

-As a Church of England School, we have a core set of Christian values that guide us in all that we do.  Children develop their understanding of these values as they move through the school, with a value alocated to each class, cluminating in 'community' class in Year 6.

-We ensure all children are provided with a range of opportunities to enhance both their learning and cultural capital through carefully planned trips, visitors, themed weeks and unique learning resources like pieces of the moon!

Our Values

We are guided and strengthened by our distinctively Christian values of Hope, Courage, Love, Thankfulness, Trust and Forgiveness. These values were chosen by our school community by reflecting deeply on the meaning of 6 key stories from the Bible. These values are nurtured and lived by all in our school community as we continue to learn and grow together.
